Brief Media, publisher of Clinician’s Brief, has acquired Pharmavet, Inc, creator of the leading veterinary drug reference, the Plumb’s Veterinary Drug Handbook, and Brief Media’s partner in the software as a service (SaaS) equivalent, Plumb’s Veterinary Drugs.
In 2015, Brief Media partnered with Dr. Plumb to deliver the Plumb’s Veterinary Drug Handbook‘s trusted content via Plumb’s Veterinary Drugs, a SaaS solution accessible to subscribers on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. Following the acquisition of Pharmavet, Dr. Plumb will be joining Brief Media’s newly formed Board of Directors to guide further development of the Plumb’s brand.
“This is an exciting investment in our vision for the future. We are honored to be entrusted with Dr. Plumb’s legacy and look forward to pursuing new platforms and workflow integration of this crucial content with Dr. Plumb’s guidance.”
Elizabeth Green, Brief Media CEO and Founder
Created for veterinarians and pharmacists, Plumb’s Veterinary Drugs expands on the original book content by offering digital subscribers up‑to‑date drug information, rapid search functionality, favorites and notes features for user‑specific customization, and printable medication guides for pet owners.
“Brief Media has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to delivering relevant, high-quality clinical information to the veterinary profession. I am completely confident they will continue to bring that same excellence to Plumb’s in the future in continued service to veterinarians, pharmacists, and students in the US and around the world.”
Donald C. Plumb, PharmD
In early 2018, Plumb’s Veterinary Drugs was awarded the Digital Momentum Award by Folio:, the leader in news, insights, and best practices for the magazine and digital publishing industry. This award was given in recognition of the Plumb’s Veterinary Drugs 2017 marketing campaign, which drove an explosive 170% growth in individual subscription revenue and more than 200% growth in corporate subscriptions.
The acquisition of Pharmavet is aligned with Brief Media’s mission to provide veterinary professionals with relevant knowledge in an accessible format that veterinarians and their teams can easily integrate into daily practice.
